Dark Souls 3’s Sirris of the Sunless Realms is an important character. Here are ten things you probably didn’t know about the character. Whether it’s the spiritual beginnings of Demon’s Souls or the spin-offs of Bloodborne and Sekiro, NPCs and their individual questlines are a staple of FromSoftware’s Souls franchise. It’s no wonder, then, that each character has a variety of branching routes, secret details, and facts that can be overlooked. Sirris is no exception, therefore here are ten facts about her that you should know.
After speaking with Anri and Horace, Sirris appears
Sirris is very easy to find, but if you ignore the NPCs and focus solely on the meat grinder combat experience, you may miss her brief visit to Firelink Shrine.
You’ll need to chat with Horace and Anri of Astora in the Road of Sacrifices to bring Sirris into the center hub, where you’ll spend the most of your time buying and leveling. Sirris is your ticket to the Darkmoon, while Horace grants you access to the Blue Sentinels, so it’s a good fit.
Denying Her Offer Of Loyalty Turns Her Hollow
Sirris will offer you her loyalty in Sirris’ questline, but if you refuse, she will grow hollow. It’s not the most enjoyable experience to transform into a savage undead.
Sirris will go to the Pit of Hollow’s altar to find her grandfather before fighting the great old wart-infested tree after this terrible rejection. If you approach her too closely, you’ll end up in a duel; kill her to obtain the Sunless Talisman.
Following Her Questline Can Lead To Joining The Mound-Makers If You Missed It In The Undead Settlement
It is possible to join the Mound-Maker covenant very early on, although it is exceedingly easy to overlook, especially for new players. Before the boss appears, you must take a relatively obscure diversion in the Undead Settlement, climb inside an enemy’s cage on their back, and be taken to a boss arena.
You can still join the Mound-Makers via Sirris’ questline if you missed all of this and don’t want to plunge into NG+ just yet. Return to the Curse-Rotted Greatwood entrance and activate the summon sign to assist Sirris once you’ve beaten Aldrich. You will obtain the covenant’s item if you are successful.
Sirris Can Be Summoned For Four Different Bosses
In Dark Souls 3, helping NPCs and completing questlines usually results in summonable companions. More often than not, they serve as cannon fodder, diverting attention away from the massive foe rather than assisting in its destruction.
Sirris is one of these summonable allies, and she can assist you with the Abyss Watchers, Deacons of the Deep, and the Dragonslayer Armor and Twin Princes if she swears her allegiance to the player. But be warned: she isn’t the most reliable summoner.
The Handmaiden Is Implied To Be Her Grandmother
We learn that Horace is Sirris’ grandfather through Sirris’ questline. Is it possible for this awful story to get any more upsetting? Well, it’s possible.
The Handmaiden will sell a glittering new unique item, a Budding Green Blossom, if you vanquish Aldrich, the god-eating slug-monster. It has its own description, which you may read here “Grandmother, I bid you farewell. In the Pit of Hollows, I’ll pay a visit to Grandfather.” This strongly suggests that Sirris handed the artifact to her grandmother before going on a mission to kill Horace. Is the Handmaiden related to Sirris, or did she happen upon it?
Sirris Teaches You The Gesture You Need To Join The Darkmoon Covenant
Invisible bridges make a comeback in Dark Souls 3, though not to the same extent as they did previous to Seath’s arrival in the first game. Yorshka can be found if you cross one of these on the elevator to Anor Londo.
You must make the Darkmoon Loyalty gesture to join her covenant, the Blades of the Darkmoon. To get this, deliver the Dreamchaser’s Ashes to the Shrine Handmaid and then speak to Sirris in Firelink Shrine. You can also murder Yorksha, but then you won’t be able to proceed in the covenant.
If you give Rosaria a pale tongue, you won’t be able to complete Sirris’ questline
The NPCs in their universe, in classic FromSoftware flair, have their own allegiances, gripes, and vendettas. Given her apparent allegiance to the Darkmoon, Sirris isn’t any different.
You can join Rosaria’s Fingers to obtain the covenant item, but if you ever give her a pale tongue as a reward, to change appearance, or to change skill points, Sirris’ quest will be cut short since she will become hostile to the player.
Sirris Gives You The Silvercat Ring
Even if our ladder-clad companion Gilligan’s body returns in Dark Souls 3, Sweet Shalquoir does not, but the ring she sells, the Silvercat Ring, does.
This feline-themed ring will grant you cat-like abilities as your fall damage decreases, and you must complete Sirris’ quest to obtain it in Dark Souls 3. She’ll return to Firelink after assisting her with Creighton at the Irithyll bridge, where she’ll be waiting with the ring and a Mail Breaker as a reward.
You Can Help Sirris Fight Creighton On The Bridge Leading To Irithyll
Creighton, the spiritual successor to Lautrec from Dark Souls 2, returns in Dark Souls 3 after making his debut in Dark Souls 2. He first appears in Irithyll as part of Sirris’ questline.
Slay the Sulyvahn’s Beast by crossing the bridge into Irithyll. Then, before 180ing and returning to the bridge in search of a summon sign, light the campfire. You’ll be thrown into Sirris’ realm to assist her in slaying this demon.
Creighton Is A Finger Of Rosaria
In Dark Souls 2, Creighton was accused of being a serial killer, but he denies it, leading to a verbal spat with Mild Mannered Pate, Patch’s spiritual heir.
He reappears in Dark Souls 3 and is just as cruel as he was before, finding himself in the service of Rosaria’s Fingers, which is why he has a grudge against Sirris. While you can assist her in killing him, he also attacks you near the tombs past the flames of the Church of Yorshka bonfire.
